Sara Henderson, the Owner of Mikayla's Thriftique, grew up in her father's grocery store in Brooklyn, NY where she was able to learn lessons she never expected to use for a store of her own. As the youngest of six Sara was all too familiar with hand-me-downs which started her future journey towards sustainability. The online business started during COVID as a means to declutter the house, which eventually led her to get larger hauls anywhere she could get them. Sara started procuring items she loved and knew as a child and then branched out to include antiques. After working in corporate jobs that weren’t fulfilling followed by being a new mom she discovered thrifting was what she loved to do full time. Her daughter Mikayla is the store's sweet namesake. Sara, Mikayla and Mike Henderson are happy to call Rutherford, NJ their home.
